    This IEEE Electron Devices Society (EDS) Mini-Colloquium (MQ) aims to strengthen the Centro Occidente Section (COS) of Mexico by positioning UNAM ENES Morelia, and particularly the International Laboratory for Environmental Electronic Devices (LAIDEA) jointly with the Bch. program in Science of Sustainable Materials (CIMATSUS), as a regional reference for training in device compact modeling and integrated circuit (IC) design, with a focus on emerging electronic technologies. The event will be hosted at LAIDEA, headquarters of the EDS Professional Chapter in the region. Beyond technical training, the MQ serves as a catalyst for regional collaboration and community building. It promotes cooperation among EDS members in the COS, connecting UNAM ENES Morelia with regional actors including the EDS Student Chapter of TecNM Morelia, Michoacan University (UMSNH) and other institutions, while engaging communities from DGETI high schools. By reintegrating universities, technological institutes, and technical high schools, the event seeks to broaden participation, strengthen the regional EDS ecosystem, and increase membership, especially among students and early-career researchers. The program addresses key technological needs in areas such as sustainable sensing, device modeling, and electronic circuit design, linking national initiatives with practical implementation. Designed to be accessible and engaging, it encourages participation from high school and university students through application-oriented sessions that highlight academic and career pathways in electronics and semiconductors. Aligned with national priorities, the MQ contributes to Mexico’s technological sovereignty by promoting organic electronic devices and sustainable chips based on oxide semiconductor transistors. It also emphasizes the importance of compact modeling for integrating these emerging devices into IC design and system-level applications.
