En esta presentación, exploraremos cómo el análisis del comportamiento del nematodo Caenorhabditis elegans mediante técnicas avanzadas de visión por computadora y aprendizaje automático puede impulsar innovaciones significativas en los campos de la medicina y la agricultura. Discutiremos el proceso de captura de datos a través de grabaciones de video del comportamiento del C. elegans, seguido de su análisis utilizando algoritmos de visión por computadora para extraer características relevantes. Posteriormente, estas características se analizan mediante métodos de aprendizaje automático y estadísticos para identificar patrones y correlaciones. Presentaremos ejemplos de experimentos que emplean técnicas de clasificación, destacando aplicaciones potenciales como el desarrollo de nuevos medicamentos.
