IEEE MOVE Interested Group Form
We are delighted with your interest in joining the IEEE MOVE Community Outreach initiative. The MOVE program is looking for qualified volunteers who not only have a deep passion for humanitarian work but also the expertise, wisdom and time to commit in support of the program. We are currently seeking candidates for leadership positions of committees and working groups for our global program expansion. Currently we are looking for volunteers in support of our programs in Puerto Rico. We realize that few people have the ability to extensively volunteer to a program such as ours. It is through the diverse efforts of committee members, each contribution their time and resources as they are able, in a combined effort that allows us to address the many programmatic needs. International Day of Women and Girls in Science (11F)
The International Day of Women and Girls in Science is celebrated to recognize the vital contributions of women in science and technology, and to promote equal opportunities in STEM fields. Despite progress over the years, women remain underrepresented in many scientific areas. This day inspires future generations and highlights the achievements of women scientists worldwide. To celebrate this special day, we will visit a local school in Mérida to engage students with a variety of interactive and hands-on science activities. The program is designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong interest in science. Activities include: - Science Talks: Short, inspiring presentations introducing students to pioneering women scientists and their contributions to different fields. - Hands-on Workshops: Students will participate in fun experiments that demonstrate fundamental scientific concepts, encouraging exploration and critical thinking. - Build Your Own Spectroscope: A creative workshop where students assemble their own simple spectroscopes, learning about light, colors, and spectra. - Storytelling Sessions: Science-themed stories that connect imagination and scientific ideas, making learning both fun and memorable. - Science Magic Show: Visually stunning demonstrations such as “Elephant Toothpaste,” giant bubbles, fire experiments, and other interactive experiments that make science appear magical, while explaining the principles behind them. This event aims to inspire students, especially girls, to explore STEM subjects, appreciate the role of women in science, and experience the excitement and wonder of scientific discovery in an engaging and interactive environment. IEEE PROFESSIONAL ROAD 2026
IEEE Professional Road 2026 is a comprehensive transition-to-career event designed to support final-semester students and recent graduates as they enter the professional world. Over 4.5 hours, participants will gain practical tools, real inspiration, and access to resources that strengthen their employability and international prospects. The program integrates inspiring talks, hands-on workshops, and interactive networking activities covering essential topics such as international study and scholarship opportunities, the role of English in professional growth, strategies for overcoming workplace fears, and the development of a competitive CV. Through dynamic and engaging activities—including an innovative “anonymous CV” ice-breaker—the event empowers attendees to discover their strengths, expand their professional network, and identify concrete pathways for academic and career advancement. This initiative serves as a bridge between university life and the workforce, aligning with IEEE’s mission to promote leadership, skill development, and the continuous growth of its student and Young Professional community.
