he IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) is a global affinity group that operates across different areas, from pre-university education to academia and the industrial sector, with the goal of encouraging the participation and growth of women in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Among WIE’s initiatives, the WIE DAY stands out as an annual global celebration created to recognize the group’s role and renew the collective commitment to innovation and the construction of more inclusive environments. The theme for WIE DAY 2026 is: “Technology with Purpose: Innovate Responsibly, Inspire Globally, Lead with Integrity.” In the city of Salvador, the IEEE Women in Engineering group at Federal University of Bahia (WIE UFBA) is responsible for organizing this event. In accordance with the global theme of WIE DAY, WIE UFBA aims to promote an event that reinforces the importance of inclusive and innovative technological development, focusing on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while also encouraging female leadership committed to social impact. To achieve this, the program will include workshops and panel discussions designed to foster innovation and the ethical use of technology. Our goal with WIE DAY 2026 in Salvador is to create opportunities for people to discuss how technology can be used ethically and with social purpose, for women attending the event to feel more represented and encouraged to enter and remain in technology spaces, and for all participants to leave with a broader understanding of how technology can contribute to the SDGs and to building a fairer world. We want to create a welcoming space for dialogue, where people can share knowledge, exchange experiences, and strengthen one another collectively, in order to encourage community impact and social development. Bldg: Escuela Politécnica Nacional, Av. Ladrón de Guevara E11-253, Av. Madrid, Quito, Pichincha, Ecuador

By integrating robotics and autonomous systems many industries have enhanced their production and optimized their activities. This revolution has modified academic teaching focus to guarantee that students will be able to interact and manipulate with robotics and its different applications. To prepare the next generation of engineers and researchers on various topics of robotics and their integration into the industry, the IEEE RAS Student Chapter at Escuela Politécnica Nacional (EPN) is organizing a Technical Summer Camp focused on Aerial Robotics & UAVs, Autonomous Ground Vehicles & Intelligent Transportation Systems, and Telerobotics. This technical Summer School aims to create a space for collaboration and research on telerobotics, aerial vehicles and intelligent vehicles. These topics were chosen due to their potential of being integrated in industrial processes and many tasks around Ecuador. Beyond technical training, we aim to foster a culture of intellectual curiosity and collaborative learning, where students are encouraged to explore robotics for its own sake, develop problem-solving skills, and engage with cutting-edge technology in meaningful ways.
