IEEE MOVE Interested Group Form

Virtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/407879

We are delighted with your interest in joining the IEEE MOVE Community Outreach initiative. The MOVE program is looking for qualified volunteers who not only have a deep passion for humanitarian work but also the expertise, wisdom and time to commit in support of the program. We are currently seeking candidates for leadership positions of committees and working groups for our global program expansion. Currently we are looking for volunteers in support of our programs in Puerto Rico. We realize that few people have the ability to extensively volunteer to a program such as ours. It is through the diverse efforts of committee members, each contribution their time and resources as they are able, in a combined effort that allows us to address the many programmatic needs. Information you provide will allow us to appreciate your talents and time so we can best engage you in the program. For more information, you can visit the (https://move.ieee.org/) webpage. Thank you! Co-sponsored by: IEEE MOVE Puerto Rico Virtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/407879

First-Year Engineering Students Recruitment

Bldg: Facultad de Ingeniería Udec, Edmundo Larenas 219, Concepción, Bio-Bio, Chile

This year, with the arrival of new first-year engineering students, IEEE PES UdeC is excited to introduce them to the IEEE Student Branch (SB) and, more specifically, the IEEE PES Student Branch Chapter (SBC PES) at the University of Concepción. Our team will be visiting classrooms to give a brief presentation on: -What IEEE is and its global impact -What IEEE PES represents, both internationally and within our university -The events and activities we have organized in the past -Upcoming initiatives and opportunities for students to get involved This is a great opportunity to learn about our student chapter, the benefits of being part of IEEE PES, and how they can actively participate in technical workshops, industry talks, networking events, and more.

LaTeX Workshop

Bldg: Facultad de Ingeniería Udec, Edificio Tecnológico Mecánico, Edmundo Larenas 219, Concepción, Bio-Bio, Chile

LaTeX, specifically supported by Overleaf, is a powerful and widely used platform for writing and co-authoring academic documents, from lab reports to scientific papers. Unlike traditional word processors, LaTeX allows for precise formatting, effortless handling of complex equations, and seamless integration of large tables, figures, and references. These features make it an essential tool for students, researchers, and professionals in engineering and scientific fields. In this introductory LaTeX workshop, we aim to provide engineering students with the fundamental knowledge needed to start using LaTeX efficiently. Participants will learn how to structure a document, format mathematical expressions, generate citations and bibliographies, and create professional-quality reports. The workshop will be hands-on, ensuring that attendees gain practical experience using Overleaf, a cloud-based LaTeX editor that simplifies collaboration and document management, also we are handing a pdf document for summarize the content of the workshop and the documentation of the pseudo-coding language LaTeX. Whether they are new to LaTeX or looking to strengthen their skills, this workshop will equip them with valuable tools to improve the clarity and presentation of their academic work.
