IEEE MOVE Interested Group Form

Virtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/407879

We are delighted with your interest in joining the IEEE MOVE Community Outreach initiative. The MOVE program is looking for qualified volunteers who not only have a deep passion for humanitarian work but also the expertise, wisdom and time to commit in support of the program. We are currently seeking candidates for leadership positions of committees and working groups for our global program expansion. Currently we are looking for volunteers in support of our programs in Puerto Rico. We realize that few people have the ability to extensively volunteer to a program such as ours. It is through the diverse efforts of committee members, each contribution their time and resources as they are able, in a combined effort that allows us to address the many programmatic needs. Information you provide will allow us to appreciate your talents and time so we can best engage you in the program. For more information, you can visit the (https://move.ieee.org/) webpage. Thank you! Co-sponsored by: IEEE MOVE Puerto Rico Virtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/407879

(IEEE WIE DAY) Women Leading Purpose-Driven Innovation: From University to Global Impact

Campina Grande, Paraiba, Brazil

The proposed thematic focus is “Women Leading Purpose-Driven Innovation: From University to Global Impact.” This theme will be developed through key areas such as responsible and ethical technology, women’s leadership in STEM, inspiring leadership stories, mentoring, community outreach activities, and the role of IEEE WIE in creating academic, professional, and leadership opportunities for young women. To develop this proposal, two days of events will be held, on July 2 and July 7. On July 2, we will host a Leadership Storytelling event, where women will share their personal and professional journeys in engineering and technology. The proposal is to invite young women who previously participated in IEEE Women in Engineering initiatives at UFCG to share how this experience influenced their academic paths, professional opportunities, and leadership development. This session will also aim to inspire and encourage more women and students to explore, enter, and remain in careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. On July 7, we will hold technical talks and an Arduino workshop, focused on introducing young women students to technology, programming, and electronic prototyping. The activity will be led by women role models and leaders, who will share their knowledge in a practical and accessible way. The main target audience will be students who have recently entered the university, especially first-year women students, with the goal of encouraging their interest in engineering, strengthening their confidence, and showing that they can also occupy leadership spaces in technology. This program aims to connect inspiring experiences, technical training, and female representation, promoting an environment of learning, support, and encouragement for women to remain and grow in STEM. IEEE WIE Day 2026 – Day 2 – Colabore + IEEE WIE UFBA

Bldg: Espaço Colabore, Parque da Cidade - Itaigara, Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, 40301-155

The IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) is a global affinity group that operates across different areas, from pre-university education to academia and the industrial sector, with the goal of encouraging the participation and growth of women in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Among WIE’s initiatives, the WIE DAY stands out as an annual global celebration created to recognize the group’s role and renew the collective commitment to innovation and the construction of more inclusive environments. The theme for WIE DAY 2026 is: “Technology with Purpose: Innovate Responsibly, Inspire Globally, Lead with Integrity.” In the city of Salvador, the IEEE Women in Engineering group at Federal University of Bahia (WIE UFBA) is responsible for organizing this event. In accordance with the global theme of WIE DAY, WIE UFBA aims to promote an event that reinforces the importance of inclusive and innovative technological development, focusing on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while also encouraging female leadership committed to social impact. To achieve this, the program will include 2 days of activities. It's on this second day that the main event will be held, and we have planned a full afternoon of activities in partnership with Espaço Colabore (A public center of innovation and support, with a modern and sustainable infrastructure, in Salvador.), including two workshops, a networking gathering, and a panel on women in technology. With this activity, we seek to continue strengthening IEEE Women In Engineering's commitment to gender equity, sustainability, and ethics, highlighting the importance of the affinity group and WIE Day in achieving this goal. Our goal with WIE DAY 2026 in Salvador is to create opportunities for people to discuss how technology can be used ethically and with social purpose, for women attending the event to feel more represented and encouraged to enter and remain in technology spaces, and for all participants to leave with a broader understanding of how technology can contribute to the SDGs and to building a fairer world. We want to create a welcoming space for dialogue, where people can share knowledge, exchange experiences, and strengthen one another collectively, in order to encourage community impact and social development.
