IEEE MOVE Interested Group Form

Virtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/407879

We are delighted with your interest in joining the IEEE MOVE Community Outreach initiative. The MOVE program is looking for qualified volunteers who not only have a deep passion for humanitarian work but also the expertise, wisdom and time to commit in support of the program. We are currently seeking candidates for leadership positions of committees and working groups for our global program expansion. Currently we are looking for volunteers in support of our programs in Puerto Rico. We realize that few people have the ability to extensively volunteer to a program such as ours. It is through the diverse efforts of committee members, each contribution their time and resources as they are able, in a combined effort that allows us to address the many programmatic needs. Information you provide will allow us to appreciate your talents and time so we can best engage you in the program. For more information, you can visit the (https://move.ieee.org/) webpage. The IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group will organize an outdoor integration and leadership event in collaboration with representatives and students from Yachay Tech and UPEC, to be held on Jun 23 at Yahuarcocha, Ibarra, Ecuador. This activity is designed as a collaborative adventure route where participants will complete different stations, challenges, and team-based activities throughout a planned outdoor path. The event will combine recreation, leadership development, teamwork, communication, and STEM-oriented reflection spaces, creating an opportunity for women in engineering and technology-related fields to connect, share experiences, and strengthen inter-university collaboration. The route will include adventure dynamics focused on problem-solving, group coordination, communication, and leadership. Participants will be divided into teams and guided through different checkpoints, where they will complete challenges related to collaboration, creativity, confidence-building, and the role of women in STEM. Each station will promote values aligned with IEEE Women in Engineering, such as empowerment, professional growth, visibility, inclusion, and support among women pursuing engineering and technology careers. The event also aims to strengthen the connection between WIE members and students from different universities, encouraging the creation of future academic, technical, and community-based initiatives. By organizing this event in an open and accessible environment such as Yahuarcocha, the activity seeks to create a meaningful experience that combines personal development, networking, motivation, and institutional collaboration.
