Global Women in Data Science (WiDS) Initiative

The Women in Data Science (WiDS) initiative aims to inspire and educate data scientists worldwide, regardless of gender, and to support women in the field. WiDS started as a one-day technical conference at Stanford in November 2015. Five years later, WiDS is a global movement that includes a number of initiatives: a global conference with 150+ regional events worldwide in more than 60 countries, reaching 100,000 participants annually online and in person; a global datathon, encouraging participants to hone their skills using a social impact challenge;a podcast series, featuring data science leaders from around the world talking about their work, their journeys, and lessons learned along the way; an education outreach program to encourage high school students to consider careers in data science, artificial intelligence (AI), and related fields.
SEAS Center for Women in Engineering The SEAS Center for Women in Engineering (WiE) is a landmark program serving as a model to overcome the challenges facing women faculty, staff, students, and alumni in engineering. WiE is uniquely positioned to leverage the resources of SEAS and of the federal research institutes, national policymakers, and technology innovators in and around the nation’s capital to increase our reach and efficacy, and thus insure that women reach their fullest potential as engineers.
United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization Given the current and future global need for engineering, it is imperative that all human resources are used. Historically, women have been significantly underrepresented in engineering fields, typically making up only 10 – 20% of the engineering work force. Through programmes that encourage women to pursue engineering studies and retain women engineers in the profession, UNESCO will help to fulfill this human resource need.
Women in Engineering Program in the Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland The Women in Engineering (WIE) Program is dedicated to promoting the role of women in the field of engineering. Our focus is on the recruitment of prospective female engineering students and the retention of current undergraduate and graduate female engineering students.
Women in Communications Engineering (WICE) Standing Committee

IEEE ComSoc Women in Communications Engineering (WICE) is a standing committee within ComSoc. Its mission is to promote the visibility and roles of women communications engineers and to provide a venue for their professional growth.
