The IEEE Regional Student Branches Meeting (SBRM) is the most impactful student event in the Region. It provides a space for training, meeting and develop soft and hard skills to all volunteers.

This year is its 26th Edition.


Its mission is to integrate all student leaderships in the Region and facilitate the exchange and knowledge of students and other professionals related to educational activities, with the aim of encouraging networking, improving technological diffusion, proposing the learning of skills in addition to engineering, facilitate the job insertion of young professionals and promote IEEE activities in the community where SBRM is developed.

It is a space for cultural exchange and for creating new connections between different universities, student branches and sections of the IEEE.

We will be the host country of this great event called SBRM 2023, so it is necessary to know something about us:

  • Our national sport is the “Tejo”.
  • We have the largest Biodiversity in all of Latam.
  • We speak 70 native languages including Spanish.

  • It is called the walled city and is part of Colombia's national heritage.
  • It is located in the coastal zone of Colombia, so its average temperature is 29°C (79°F).
  • It has an international airport called Rafael Núñez de Cartagena.
  • It is one of the most important tourist destinations in Colombia and Latin America because of its art, culture and history.
