Room: Fourth floor audithorium - DES, Bldg: CTG - Centro de Tecnologia e Geociências , Arquitetura Avenue, , Campus university, Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil, 50670-901

During Brazil's National Science and Technology Week (SNCT), one of the most significant events on the national science outreach calendar, the WIE (Women in Engineering) Affinity Group UFPE will host a special and immersive program. The initiative gains even greater momentum this year, as the SNCT’s official theme, "Ciência delas" (Women's Science), aligns perfectly with the group's mission to encourage and highlight women's participation in STEM fields. The event is designed to foster networking, hands-on learning and innovation, structured around four main pillars: - Roundtable with Professors: An enriching discussion featuring guest faculty members who will address the challenges, achievements, and future of women in science and engineering, facilitating an exchange of experiences between the academic community and participants. - Technical Training (2 Workshops): two practical workshops will be offered, focusing on the development of both hard and soft skills to equip participants with essential tools for the current job market and scientific research. - Outreach Booth: a dedicated space to showcase the group, presenting projects, membership opportunities, and the impact of WIE’s initiatives, while serving as a welcoming meeting point for new members. - Hackathon (2 Days): the program's highlight will be a two-day innovation marathon. Participants will be challenged to propose technological solutions to real-world women problems, fostering teamwork, creativity, and the practical application of scientific knowledge. Through this program, WIE leverages the national visibility of the SNCT and the power of the "Ciência delas" theme to reaffirm its commitment to strengthening the support network and inspiring the next generation of women scientists and engineers.
