The program consists of a series of virtual events organized by IEEE ambassadors, who will be selected and trained through the Champion Subcommittee. The program will last five months and will begin with a call to IEEE ambassadors through the communication channels of the Region such as: eNotice, social networks and website. The call for ambassadors will focus on the participation of IEEE members (according to the profile established in the roles and activities document). The terms and conditions of the IEEE Ambassador Program are available on the committee’s website and those interested in registering can do so through the form.
An evaluation subcommittee created for this purpose will select the ambassadors who meet the criteria for participation in the program. The Evaluation Subcommittee will make the selection up to one week after the end of the ambassador call period. Selected volunteers will be notified by email up to two weeks after the ambassador call period has closed and if accepted, they will receive a formal email with the appointment.
The Organizing Committee of the program will carry out a training season for the selected ambassadors for one week. Workshops include the following topics:
- IEEE in industry
- Which is the reason of the Industry Engagement Committee in R9?
- How to organize an industry engagement session?
- Event reporting in vTools.
The Organizing Committee will select at least four Champions from the program (five maximum), whose main objective is to follow up on the events organized by the IEEE ambassadors. Each of the Champions will follow up with five ambassadors, so that the quality of the events can be guaranteed, create feedback for the events and the ambassadors, help to improve the upcoming events and verify the proper registration of the events in vTools. Champions who achieve at least 80% of their ambassadors to make at least one coffee talk will be recognized.
IEEE Ambassadors will hold virtual coffee talk sessions, in which they will encourage discussion of an industry-related topic while promoting networking among participants.
