Dr. Daniel Salles Civitarese is a Research Scientist at IBM Research in Brazil since 2017. His primary research interests focus on machine learning algorithms and neural network architectures with applications in various fields, such as image comprehension, natural language processing, and knowledge and learning bridges. He has extensive experience in computer vision, pattern recognition, and machine learning models for segmentation, classification, and object detection. He has been awarded five research grants and received two prizes for academic achievements, including a second-place for the best thesis. He authored 11 patents, 30+ peer-reviewed scientific papers, and in 2019 he received IBM’s Outstanding Technical Achievement Award.
