The IEEE RAS UdeC Chapter, in collaboration with the 3D Printing 3S Lab at the University of Concepción, presents the first session of a series of six hands-on workshops dedicated to building a SumoBot. This educational series aims to guide participants through the entire development cycle of a competitive sumo robot, from 3D printing its parts to hardware integration. They will do this in teams. In this inaugural edition, participants will be introduced to the basic concepts, from what a SumoBot is, how it works, and how the following sections will be developed. The main points that will be seen are: - Introduction: The attendees will be explained how the workshops will be conducted, in addition to explaining in depth what a sumobot is and how it works. - Teams: Participants should form teams to build their robots, encouraging teamwork and multidisciplinarity. Note: Pre-registration for this workshop series is currently closed as all available spots have been filled. Selected participants have been notified directly via internal channels. Agenda: - Welcome and overview of the 6-part SumoBot construction cycle. - Introduction to SumoBot mechanical hardware and 3D printing design principles. - Electronic component overview: sensors, microcontrollers, and motor drivers. - Practical workspace setup and preliminary assembly instructions for participants. Roboteam Program is our flagship STEM Outreach activity for de IEEE Women in Engineering Argentina AG. We are reactivating the initiative this year and we plan to host 3 Workshops for kids and teenagers. For that, we recruited new volunteers and we will have an in-person Onboarding session for them and also a Traning and Planning Session for the upcomming Roboteam activities. This special session, organized by the IEEE Photonics Society Argentina, will take place within the framework of the 111th Annual Meeting of the Argentine Physics Association (RAFA 2026), bringing together members of the optics and photonics community to discuss innovation, community building, and opportunities for professional engagement through IEEE. The session will feature two talks. The first, “EEOF TOPFOT 2026: Conclusions and Follow-up Activities,” presented by Prof. Andrea V. Bragas, will highlight the main outcomes of TOPFOT 2026, including the TOPFOT CREA photonics-based startup competition, the experiences of participating students and entrepreneurs, and future opportunities for innovation and technology transfer in photonics. The second talk, “IEEE – Engineering and Technology with Humanity at the Center,” presented by Prof. Gustavo Juárez, IEEE Region 9 Director, will introduce IEEE, its global activities, technical societies, publications, standards, educational programs, and its broader mission to advance technology for the benefit of humanity. 1 event,En el marco de su décima edición, la Escuela de Primavera del Instituto Gulich y de la IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (IEEE-GRSS) propone un espacio intensivo de formación dedicado al estudio de uno de los principales desafíos ambientales de la actualidad: la degradación de la calidad del agua en cuencas antropizadas y el incremento de los procesos de eutrofización. Este evento está coorganizado con la Misión SABIA-Mar de la CONAE, GEOAQUAWATCH y la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba y la Autoridad de Cuencas de la provincia de Córdoba Durante cinco jornadas, especialistas nacionales e internacionales compartirán conocimientos y experiencias sobre monitoreo satelital, remediación de cuerpos de agua y gestión ambiental, integrando herramientas de teledetección óptica, análisis de datos, trabajo de campo y discusión de casos reales. La propuesta combina clases teóricas, talleres prácticos, actividades en laboratorio, campañas de medición en el embalse San Roque y espacios de intercambio entre investigadores, profesionales y organismos responsables de la gestión de los recursos hídricos.
