IEEE/GRSS President is in Brazil at the Brazilian Symposium on Remote Sensing

Prof. Dr. Paolo Gamba delivered a special speech during the opening ceremony at the Brazilian Symposium on Remote Sensing (SBSR2019)

Prof. Dr. Paolo Gamba, current President of the IEEE/GRSS attended the XIX Brazilian Symposium on Remote Sensing (SBSR2019) at the city of Santos (Sao Paulo State, Brazil). Prof. Dr. Paolo Gamba welcome all attendants of the event in the Opening Ceremony (Sunday, 19h00 at April 14). During his talk, he brought reflections on the importance of Geoscience and Remote Sensing on Defense, Food Security, Administration&Management, Environmental Issues, and Health.

 

Both GRSS and ISPRS got a stand for promoting their activities. This was also a reference point for members to promote face to face meetings and share experiences. Flyers from both GRSS and ISPRS societies as well as for the forthcoming events, either sponsored or co-sponsored by both GRSS and ISPRS were also distributed. A TV booth was also used to promote both societies and member activities.

The current GRSS President, Prof. Dr. Paolo Gamba also delivered a special talk on the Thematic Session "Challenges and Opportunities on UAV Data Analysis: From Data Fusion to Deep Learning Applications" under the title "Challenges and perspectives of Data Fusion Learning Techniques".

The GRSS'Brazil Chapter also welcomes representatives for an informal meeting with about 20 GRSS members on the evening of April 15. The GRSS'Brazil Chapter welcomes Prof. Dr. Paolo Gamba at SBSR 2019 wishing him a good time and staying in Brazil.
