GRSS Brazil chapter at IUFRO & Call for Papers

Brazil'GRSS Chapter is promoted during IUFRO 2019 (Curitiba/PR).

The 25th IUFRO World Congress featured a series of topical plenary lectures by internationally renowned speakers, high-level panel discussions with stakeholders, colorful ceremonies, training workshops, networking events, social gatherings, and fascinating study tours. It was a nice opportunity for forest scientist from many different parts of the world to meet, to establish new collaborations and make new friends. The IUFRO’s motto this year was “interconnecting forests, science and people”.

The results of the GRSS Student member Mr. Dadid di Martini (UFMS), one finalist of the GRSS Student Grand Challenge, was presented by Prof. Veraldo Liesenberg in a special session of the IUFRO event.

Additionally, two GRSS'Brazil chapter members, Prof. Dr. Manuel Ferreira and Prof. Dr. Veraldo Liesenberg also join as Guest Editors of both the Canadian Journal of Forest Research and the Journal of Unmanned Vehicle Systems. A special call for papers for "Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in Forest Science and Management" is running and the deadline for contributions is December 15th.
